Amanda L. Zeine, DO is a pediatrician, wife, mother, and retired Lieutenant Colonel. She was born and raised in a small town in Central Illinois, where she dreamed from a young age of becoming a doctor. After high school, she attended Illinois State University and participated in the ROTC program, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

With an educational delay granted by the United States Army, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. She completed her pediatric residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, where she was also blessed with the birth of her daughter. Following residency, she was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, where she went on to serve as both a pediatrician and Army flight surgeon, deploying twice.

In 2017, she remarried and now lives happily with her husband in Clarksville, Tennessee. In December 2018, her life changed dramatically when she sustained a traumatic brain injury. After an eleven-year career as a physician, losing the ability to practice clinically was a profound personal and professional loss. Yet, in that struggle, she found a new calling… writing.

Today, she uses both her medical knowledge and personal experience to guide others on their own journey to wellness with her book Hot Mess to Wellness. She has also started a children’s chapter book series called Cul-de-sac Kids that follows a tween military brat named Chloe. This series helps to show military brats they are not alone and that they can meet the unique challenges they face in positive ways.
